Who is Rest |&| Refuge?
Rest |&| Refuge was created by Rhiannon, as a creative endeavor to balance life as a part-time stay-at-home Mom and part-time teacher. Rhiannon, her husband Ryan, and their toddler Finn, call Denver CO home.
Why the name?
When I think of my home, I want it to be a safe place that cultivates a sense of peace. I want it to feel familiar, like worn cozy slippers, but also fresh and modern without trying too hard.
Creating, for me, is also a place I find rest and refuge. It is in those moments, in which I am enthralled by the process, unaware of any of the things from the day that have brought me down. All that matters in those moments is creating something new. I find peace and rest as I design.
Ultimately, Rest and Refuge is homage to our Creator. He is the ultimate Protector, Giver of Peace. I feel most connected to Him when I, too, am creating. When I am engaged in creating-- whether it be crafting or writing or designing, I feel most like "myself," like who I was designed to be. In turn, I feel it is my best form of worship, when I walk in the things I was created by God to do.
